What kind of passport do I need?
Whenever you leave the UK you must carry a passport with you but do please check that your passport is in date. It is a requirement of certain countries that the expiry date of your passport exceeds the return date of travel by up to 6 months. Requirements vary from country to country. You should also ensure that any children under the age of 16 who are not already included on a valid 10 year passport, have their own passport when travelling abroad. Travellers to the USA, including infants, will require a valid machine readable passport.
New Passport Regulations are now in place for first time adult passport applications (aged 16 or over). As part of the passport application process, interviews are now required to support your passport application. This is to ensure that your identity is protected, so allow enough time for your passport application to be processed. If you have any queries please ask or visit www.ukpa.gov.uk.
What do I do if I have a complaint when staying at the resort?
Always ensure that your hotel/accommodation Manager or tour operator representative is aware of the problem straight away. Give them the opportunity to put things right. Clearly explain your problem and how and when you expect it to be resolved. If the situation is not resolved to your satisfaction, ask your tour operator representative to assist you in completing a complaint form. If you wish to pursue the matter, then contact us within 28 days of your return and we will deal with the complaint on your behalf. If the issue cannot be resolved by the resort whilst you are on holiday please call our Customer Service Team on 00 44 844 893 3300. (UK telephone number 0844 893 3300)
Are flights restricted during pregnancy?
Some airlines refuse to accept passengers who are more than 28 weeks pregnant. Please check this detail with your Travel Advisor before making your holiday booking.
Will I need vaccinations for my holiday?
It is recommended by various countries that vaccinations are carried out prior to travelling. Your own Doctor can provide you with up to date advice about vaccinations, alternatively view the Foreign & Commonwealth Office Travel Advice section on our website (this can be found under ‘Travel Info’). You can also find out information on www.fco.gov.uk/knowbeforeyougo
How do I call the UK from abroad?
If dialling from outside the UK, you’ll need the local international access code for the UK. You then dial the UK number as if it were a long distance call (i.e. include the code but do not dial the initial “0”).
Holiday Money – what should I take?
Try to take a mixture of local currency and travellers cheques. Take the majority in travellers cheques as these are insured against loss or theft, with the remainder, enough for the first day or so, in local currency.
Where is the best place to exchange travellers cheques abroad?
Avoid changing travellers cheques at your accommodation, as commission charges are often higher than at a local bank. Local banks have varying opening hours and are certainly different from the UK. In hot countries do not expect banks to the open in the afternoon as they often close for siesta. You will need to present an official form of identification when changing your travellers cheques to local currency; your passport is the most widely received method.
